RM Playbook Β· 01 β€” The Daily Revenue Routine (excerpt) Format: editable document

Purpose

Give the person responsible for revenue a repeatable 30–45 minute morning routine that reads yesterday's pickup, checks pace against forecast, reviews the comp set, and ends in documented selling decisions for the next 90 days β€” every business day, whether or not the hotel has a dedicated revenue manager.

Procedure β€” the reading (first 15 minutes)

  1. Open the pickup sheet. Scan the next 90 days for any date that moved more than {{5}} rooms overnight β€” up or down. Every such date gets a reason written next to it, even if the reason is "unknown β€” watching".
  2. Compare rooms on the books against the same date last year at the same distance out. Flag any date pacing more than {{10}}% behind with your BAR above the comp median β€” that combination is the single most reliable "you are mispriced" signal available without software.
  3. Check today's and tomorrow's house: expected occupancy, remaining sellable rooms, out-of-orders, and the overbooking position against tonight's no-show expectation.
